1 At the 43 Meter Lockout/Tagout station, cycle the appropriate switch to the locked position, install a multilock clip, then install your lock and name tag.
2 Upon completion of work, remove your lock. The person removing the last lock on a lockout switch should contact the duty operator for further instructions. The Duty Operator will advise when/if the lockout switch may be rotated to the active position.

NOTE 1 The duty operator will be contact when access is required. Personnel will describe work to be performed.
1 Position the antenna as requested then set the stow brakes. At the 43 Meter Lockout/Tagout station, personnel will then lockout the servo system (the key lock icons will be displayed on the 43Meter Main Console once this is done.)
2 Upon completion of work, personnel will remove their lock (the key lock icons will no longer be displayed) and inform the Duty Operator that they are done.

LOCKOUT/TAGOUT FOR RA/DEC DRIVES

General

The Lockout/Tagout is designed to disable the 140 Foot RA and DEC drives from moving. Lockout/Tagout will be used to prevent antenna motion whenever maintenance is required on the tipping structure or other moving parts as directed.

Warning

Ensure personal safety through effective lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the antenna is disabled from movement before releasing it for access.

  • Stow position for access to the tipping structure is: 0.0 Degs Hour angle / 38.438 Degs Declination
  • Service position for work via the service tower is: -106.204 Degs Hour angle / -14.553 Degs Declination

STEP ACTION
