GBT SAFETY LOCKOUT JUMPERS |

Background When stowing on the generator you can stow from the Operations room from the OCT or from the Servo Room from the OCU / MRU / PMU. If the UPS in the Servo room is dead you will have to go to the Servo room. This will be evidenced by the lack of ability to move the antenna. The E-stop, Soft-Stop, and Lockout system is designed so that if power is lost to these circuits, as in a cable break, they will stop the GBT. Info The control boxes for these systems are located in the right hand corner, behind the NRAO Computer Racks. On the wall you will see three anodized boxes labeled GBT Lockout, GBT Hard-Stop and GBT Soft-Stop. The lights on them will be red, indicating all three are active.
What to do. 1. Remove the cable connected to each box 2. Each of the three boxes have a jumper plug attached. 3. Plug the jumper plug in to the free end of the cable you just removed from each box.
Note These safety systems will be jumpered out as long as these plugs remain in the cables. Use caution moving the antenna. |
