TELESCOPE OPERATIONS
USING LOGVIEW
Log View is a glish/aips++ program that can be run from a Linux/Unix workstation. It can be used to plot various types of FITS data such as weather temps, device voltages, antenna positions, etc.
Log View can be run from naiad, victor, or titania (192 machines). Only the basic steps for using Log View are shown below. Other parameters and options are available.
| STEP | ACTION |
| 1 | Change to the /home/gbtlogs directory: cd ^ /home/gbvtlogs |
| 2 | Start Log View be entering: mylogview (PGPlotter and GBT Log Data GUIs will appear) |
| 3 | To close Log View, simply press the dismiss or X buttons or type exit in the xterm window to end the glish session. |
| STEP | ACTION |
| 1 | Select a data source from the menu. |
| 2 | Fill in the start and end times or use the preset buttons. |
| 3 | Press the Fill button. A Filler Status window pops up showing the filling process. Proceed when Ends successfully is shown. This window can then be closed. |
| 4 | Press the Plot Columns button (GBT Log Data window). A Plot Log Data window pops up. Click on the axis' to be plotted then press the Plot button. A Define Plot Axes window pops up. Either define the values shown, guess, or accept them then press OK. The data will now display on the PGPlotter window. |
