    • Participants discussed what parts of the existing Cleo nomenclature and command structure could be utilized with MUSTANG. Some items looked encouraging, but all agreed more discussion was needed. Group did agree to change MUSTANG Cal Diode Control from "Ton/Toff" to "Ton & duty cycle". Ray to update MR and resubmit to CCC

  • Astrid data monintoring application is not in Data Monitoring MR. Ray to add specs and meet w/Amy on Astrid shell reqs. Initial implementation will be as a stand-alone utility, which will also be supported long term (as GFM).

Things that Came up After the Meeting

  • In testing the data monitoring Wed morning, Ray and Brian encountered some strange problems with signal generator: basically, through the manager we were unable to command the amplitude or period of the wave form (but we were able to command triangle vs square wave). Through IRC we were able to command amplitude and period but not the waveform! This was all through our 3-card test setup on green. If this occurs in the real system it's potentially quite serious and we need determine for sure if this is a hardware or software issue, and fix it if it's not just a property of our test setup.

Mustang Software Support Meeting 10-Jun-08

Attendees:

  • Whitehead, Creager, Mason, White, Woody, Bloss

Agenda:

  • Combined with MUSTANG team meeting

Meeting Notes:

  • Parser optimization – a combination of creating subsections in the code and enabling some performance enhancing features during compile has dramatically improved parser performance.
  • Data monitoring MR
    • Basic functions of data flow, time stamping in place
    • Ray to meet with Brian for review of work and issues (stats)
    • Best tested with cold Mustang
    • Pleased with throughput and data rates
  • Cleo interface meeting
    • Participants discussed what parts of the existing Cleo nomenclature and command structure could be utilized with MUSTANG. Some items looked encouraging, but all agreed more discussion was needed. Group did agree to change MUSTANG Cal Diode Control from "Ton/Toff" to "Ton & duty cycle". Ray to update MR and resubmit to CCC
    • Cleo on Spider at UPenn may be an issue. Cleo is not part of manager and utilizes specific libraries. Issues with version control as well. A local version of the manager is needed for Cleo development. Ray asked for notice before development begins to merge two concurrent development branches.
    • First iteration of Cleo due by end of June; second iteration by end of July
  • Cryogenics Control:
    • Working on last ‘punch-list’ items
    • Expected to be available for testing 19-June
  • Astrid build-out is not in Data Monitoring MR. Ray to add specs and meet w/Amy on Astrid shell reqs.

Priority of work (unchanged):

  1. Data monitoring
  2. Cryogenic simulator enhancements – Complete for this cycle
  3. Cryogenic control and monitoring.
  4. Two changes are planned for ‘Bias File’ (to be delivered in Cycle #4):
    • Add DAC values to Bias Files
    • Reorder Bias File for easier review and editing. Order by columns instead of items
    • Part of MR that covers ‘load configuration’ – edits and approvals will be needed.

Known staff unavailability:
