Requests for Spectral Line Improvements

  Main     SpectralLine     Requests     Examples

Upgrades Strategy

Current GFM improvement falls into three main categories:

1. High-priority fixes for specific problems which affect on-going operations. Examples of this include inability to produce results from apparently good data, and so on. Genuine emergencies are handled under operational support. Important but not emergency problems are carried over to the next cycle, but are generally made the highest priority for that cycle.

2. Major processing / infrastructural improvements.

3. Low priority, generally "cosmetic" improvements. These are fitted in on an as-possible basis.

If a task has been selected for work in a specific cycle, a link will be made to the corresponding modification request.

Prioritization into, and within these categories is currently being performed by RichardPrestage. Please contact him if you have any comments or suggestions!

I have a proposal for an improvement...

If you have a request for a new feature for gfm, please look down the following lists, to make sure it is not already requested. If you don't see it, either add it at the bottom of the appropriate list, or email it to AmyShelton or RichardPrestage. New requests will be reviewed and prioritorized at the start of each cycle.

Requests

Since the spectral line plug-in is still in alpha development, we are not formalizing a specific set of requests. Nevertheless, you may feel free to add suggestions here.

Item Priority Active C1 2005 Task Sponsor Lead Details Status
01 4 - N/A N For spectral data the multiple plots should be one above the other rather than side by side - this makes viewing the data easier. ToneyMinter AmyShelton
02 4 - N/A N For spectral data the x axis should be labeled in GHz or MHz rather than Hz. ToneyMinter AmyShelton
03 4 - N/A N When scaling the spectral data plot the 5% of the data near each edge should be ignored. This will keep the zero channel from making the data undiscernable. ToneyMinter AmyShelton
04 4 - N/A N The spectral data plots need header information such as source, scan number etc. ToneyMinter AmyShelton
