Release Notes for sdfits Version 1.12 - Released on Wednesday, 14 May 2008.

• Bugs Fixed

This release fixes bugs that prevented sdfits from filling old GBT data. Sdfits users may also be interested in the version 1.11 release notes since those changes were released one month ago.

Bugs Fixed

• Historical GBT data exists which predates the formal documentation of the M&C FITS files. Those earlier version of those FITS files can cause problems for sdfits. This release fixes a small number of such bugs, allowing sdfits to fill more of that historical data. Specifically:
  • TRCKBEAM may be missing in the ANTENNA file. This information is not used internally in sdfits but it is written to the output FITS file. GBTIDL does not use this field. When this field is missing, the output FITS file contains "0" for that cell.
  • The FEED and HIGH_CAL columns may be missing from the IF table. When FEED is missing, "0" is reported as the value for that cell in the output FITS file. If HIGH_CAL is missing, the low cal is assumed.
  • The location of the pointing table in the ANTENNA file is now found by name and not by an expected location.
