Proposal Submission Tool (PST) Concerns

Current PST (Early December 2006)

The current PST is a web based system with tabs to be filled out by the user concerning their proposed observations. The tabs are listed below with some information.

• General - this contains the followng:
  • Title
  • Abstract
  • Scientific category (e.g, galactic)
  • Proposal type (e.g., long?)
  • Joint proposal (e.g., with GBT+VLBA)
  • Scientific justification (attachment)
  • Observing type (e.g., spectroscopy)
  • Related proposals
  • Whether the user needs help
• Authors - list of authors from the database where the PI and contact author must be specified.
• Sources - there can be several groups of sources where the following is listed:
  • RA
  • Dec
  • Epoch
  • Velocity/Redshift
• Resources - there can be several different resources where the following is listed for each:
  • Receiver (band)
  • Backend
  • Rest Frequencies (coma separated list)
  • Bandwidth (only one can be specified)
  • Sampling level (e.g., 3-level)
  • Frequency resolution
  • Time resolution
• Sessions - these are similar to our allocations where the following is listed for each:
  • minimum LST
  • maximum LST
  • minimum elevation
  • session time
  • repeats
  • session separation time
  • associated resources
  • association sources
