How to Update the CCU Year?

Solution

Because IRIG-B time does not contain the current year, the value must be taken from a startup file. This file resides in the directory "/sd0/" on the CCU's local hard disk. This page documents the procedure to update the file.

First login to the antenna manager host (currently prima): ssh monctrl@prima
Change directory: cd /export/home/prima/services/sccu/gbt/etc/startup
Edit the file "loadccu.ini" and change the year value of setCCUYear() in two locations:

Next, login to the CCU: rlogin gbtccu
(The following commands should be entered into the ccu login window)
Mount the filesystem: nfsMount("prima", "/export/home/prima/services/sccu/gbt/etc/startup", "/tmp")
Update the file: copy("/tmp/loadccu.ini", "/sd0/loadccu.ini")
Logout: logout

Updating the SCU Year

The SCU currently boots vxWorks from ROM, then loads the sccu.ro loadable via the network using ftp. The current host which serves the loadable is prima. The file to update is /export/home/prima/services/sccu/gbt/etc/startup/realscu.startup (Note you must be logged into prima to view this file). Once the file is updated, the year will be updated on the next boot.
