onlineSdfits?
onlinesdfits - this is in production mode. It creates SDFITS files in /home/sdfits, updating the files at the end of each scan. It is critical to GBTIDL in online mode.
onlinesdfits? onlineSdfits? Only non-pulsar spectral line observors would be
ABLE to use onlinesdfits and the SDFITS files it produces. During
observations, these users would need onlinesdfits to be working in order
to use GBTIDL in 'online' mode. In addition, after observations, the
SDFITS files in /home/sdfits would also be of use to these observors.
onlinesdfits critical to Observations? onlinesdfits is a completed software product that should be running at all
times. That said, observations may be able to continue if onlinesdfits is
not working. For instance, a pulsar observor could care less. Another
example is a non-pulsar spectral line observor who is using their own data
analysis software to examine their new data. And finally, an observor may
decide to continue observing without using GBTIDL in 'online' mode, due to
a failure with onlinesdfits.
onlinesdfits only communicates with
the M&C system through TaskMaster?. Whenever it crashes,
TaskMaster? restarts it, sending a message to the CLEO Message window.
This is how most of you have been notified that something is wrong. If
NOTHING is running on datacapture, TaskMaster? will say 'no children to
wait for'.
onlinesdfits?: onlinesdfits program will get things running again. If this still does not work, contact the appropriate SDD member (see below).
onlinesdfits file will not back fill missing data: it will not fill scans that were run while the onlinesdfits program was offline, these scans will have to be filled manually offline.
