• Now that the unit tests work, I would like to run my version of the code on spider.

• What do I need to do?
  1. Build the software
  2. Install the software. Set YGOR_INSTALL=/home/simversions/integration (/home/sandboxes/monctrl/simversions/integration ?) and set YGOR_ROOT=/home/sandboxes/mwhiteh/ygor. Use make install. Must su to monctrl before installing! This installs the DDLs related to parameters as well as creating the executable.
  3. VNC into spider:1 and check scope elevation and temperatures (see Miscellaneous section below).
  4. VNC/ssh into spider:2 and source the scripts listed in the following steps.
  5. For each terminal: source /home/sim/gbt.bash to set environment variables for running Mustang with the simulator (e.g. YGOR_TELESCOPE must be set to /home/sim).
  6. For each terminal using python: source /home/sparrow/integration/sparrow.bash.
  7. Check that YGOR_ROOT=/home/sandboxes/mwhitehe/ygor
  8. Check the Rcvr_Par.conf file (should be in /home/sim/etc/config for simulation & /home/gbt/etc/config for development).
  9. Start the manager by typing ./Rcvr_PAR (in the i386-linux directory).
  10. AFTER starting the manager, run /users/bmason/gbt-dev/par/ygorTest/newstartup.py (python newstartup.py) or python safestart.py.

• Miscellaneous
  1. The scope elevation should be greater than 15 degrees. Launch gbtstatus from the command line to monitor the elevation.
  2. The temperatures should be below 5 degrees K. Use the temperature graphs to monitor. How do I start these?
  3. On spider, source /home/sim/gbt.bash BEFORE running CLEO. Otherwise you won't see messages.
  4. CLEO contacts all managers in system.conf. Rcvr_PAR is the Mustang manager. system.conf is located in /home/sim/etc/config and, presumably, /home/gbt/etc/config.
  5. Device Explorer is associated with DDL. It shows all the parameters associated with a particular manager.
  6. If you switch to green from spider (or vice versa) you will need to restart grail on leeloo.
  7. Use showDeviceInfo -p or -s to look at parameter data. The syntax is: showDeviceInfo -p Rcvr_PAR Rcvr_PAR.

• Testing 3/18/2008
  1. ssh to spider
  2. used setsimenv to set sim environment variables
  3. backed up /home/sim/etc/config/Rcvr_PAR.conf to /home/sim/etc/config/Rcvr_PAR.conf.3.18.2008
  4. copied Rcvr_PAR.conf from my ~/Desktop directory to /home/sim/etc/config
  5. su monctrl
  6. did make install in my PAR directory
  7. checked that /home/simversions/integration/lib/i386-linux was updated
  8. started the Rcvr_PAR manager
  9. started cleo and did unit tests
  10. restored Rcvr_PAR.conf
  11. did make install from ray's 2/22/2008 directory
