Scheduling Status -- Carl

Observing News -- Ron

A busy week. We supported 22 projects in 41 observing sessions, including 2 VLB runs. The telescope was scheduled for 8.5 hrs for maintenance, 6 hrs of software regression testing, 2.5 hrs of Zpec tests, and 1 hr for PF1 receiver checkout. 20.5 hrs were spent with the telescope at half speed due to cold weather. Lost time was 17.6 hrs (about 11.5%), of which 11.5 hrs were due to the wind storm. The major causes of lost time were:

• Winds (6 instances) -- 11.5 hrs
• Elevation Roller Bearing -- 3.9 hrs
• Observer script errors (2 instances) -- 0.9 hrs
• Az Transducers -- 0.3 hrs
• Low Temperatures / half speed switch over (2 instances) -- 0.3 hrs
• Astrid (3 instances) -- 0.3 hrs
• Archivist (5 instances) -- 0.3 hrs
• Snow -- 0.1 hrs

The observing script problems were an attempt to observe with the wrong K-band beams, and a script that did not remove the L-band notch filter. The Archivist errors are those we were expecting from our discussions from last week.

Commissioning Plans -- Ron

Zpec had test time at the start of the week. Mustang's progress is reported below.

The archive is being re-taped on SDLT600 tapes to ensure continuity and save on shelf space. The SDLT600 tapes hold 3 of the AIT3 tape images. All science data is still available online.

Business Services -- Mike

• Some testing of the trajectory interface this week.
• Normal spacecraft tracking next week.
• Reviewing MIT/LL science goals for FY 09 on Wednesday.

Project and Development Work

Dynamic Scheduling -- Karen

MUSTANG -- Brian

• Items/actions completed:
  • Several observing runs
  • Team meetings with UPenn, NASA, NIST partners in GB
  • Series of sponsor tests of manager software

• Decisions made:
  • Attempt to use new manager code for a MUSTANG observation run before end of observing season
  • Final list of code deliveries under development cycle

PTCS program -- Marty

• Items/actions completed:

  • First draft program plan presented to team

    • Ongoing MUSTANG OOF analysis
    • Todd's new OOF preprocessing script can now open Ka/CCB OOF maps (from Dec 2006). Need to confirm the details of the port and IF labeling.
  • Servo Replacement
    • Analysis continues on telescope modeling and identification of servo resonance causes and resolution strategies.
    • Collect servo error data during higher velocity MUSTANG scans

• Items/actions in progress:
  • Develop telescope test time requests (due 3-Mar)

• Near-term activities (next ~2 weeks):
  • Refine Servo Project software requirements (ongoing)
  • Update documentation/wikis (>2 wks)

CICADA program -- John

• Completed DSP chain for BEE2
• Working on final FPGA design for the combining FPGA. This design will combine the 2 polarizations, accumulate spectra, scale them, and output in 8 bit chunks over the 10 Gb Ethernet.
• Paul, Ron, and Scott are working on software in CV, hope to finish with version 0.001 by beginning of March.

Ka-band Rx / Zpectrometer -- Galen

K-band Focal Plane Array -- Steve

• Conceptual Design Review February 27 and 38 preparations under way.
