TELESCOPE OPERATIONS

CLEO GATEWAY MANAGEMENT

Warning

Only persons authorized by the operator should be allowed access to Cleo applications linked to control the GBT or its electro-mechanical systems. Do not disclosed the gateway access password to unauthorized persons.

General

The Cleo Gateway is a password protected application used to manage access to GBT devices. Access to these devices will be restricted to those having operational or maintenance needs. The duty operator controls device access.

Info

Concerning the Who@Computer field, all Green Bank workstations with an IP address starting with 172 should be entered as username@computer.gb.nrao.edu. All computers supporting operations in the control and equipment rooms are listed as 172 machines.

Selecting the Limited option under the device menu will allow an individual access to all devices, but only allows them to make changes to devices parameters on those devices where no one has been given specific permissions.

Granting Cleo Permissions using the Gateway Application

STEP ACTION
1 Launch the CLEO Gateway application. The application appears after entering the correct password.
2 If the person currently has device access, click on their name (enters it in the Who@Computer field). Otherwise, enter their user name and computer name in the Who@Computer field.
3 Select the device(s) to allow access.
4 Press the Allow button. Access to the device is now granted.

Revoking Cleo Permissions using the Gateway Application

STEP ACTION
1 Launch the CLEO Gateway application as prescribed above.
2 Double click on the persons name (enters it in the Who@Computer field).
3 Select the device to revoke access to.
4 Press the Revoke button. Access to the device is now removed.
5 Repeat steps 3-5 as necessary to revoke access to multiple devices.
