TELESCOPE OPERATIONS

M&C SYSTEM SOFTWARE PROCEDURES

Warning

A complete shutdown/restart of the M&C software may be required in extreme situations or during periods of testing when versions are changed. Personnel from the computing division will accomplish these actions.

These procedures can be accomplished from either Unix or Linux workstations.

Any of the following steps utilizing TaskMaster commands can be run through the CLEO TaskMaster application using the appropriate tabs and buttons.

Log actions in OpsLog as required.

Stopping and Starting Processes Using TaskMaster

STEP ACTION
1 Launch the Cleo TaskMaster application.
2 Go to the workstation tab hosting the process, click on the process in question, and use the Stop, Start, and/or RunOnce options as necessary.
NOTE All processes for a workstation may be stopped/restarted using the System Stop / System Start options.

Stopping and Starting Processes Using TaskMaster (Manual Method)

STEP ACTION
1 Login to the host workstation the device runs from: ssh ^ _host workstation name_
2 Login as monctrl: su ^ monctrl
3 Use the status command to check the status of processes running and to determine the number # assigned to the device in question: TaskMaster ^ ' host workstation' ^ status
4 Use the system stop command to stop the device processes: TaskMaster ^ ' host workstation' ^ stop ^ #
5 Use the status command again to recheck the status of the device.
6 Use the system runonce command to re-start the device processes: TaskMaster ^ 'hostname' ^ runonce ^ #
7 Use the status command again to recheck the status of the device and ensure it's running.
8 Monitor the message window and/or Cleo applications as necessary to verify required systems are ok.
9 Log out of host system.

M&C Version Changes

STEP ACTION
1 Follow instructions provided by the software division person making the changes.
2 Log the version changes in OpsLog.
