TELESCOPE OPERATIONS

MAINTENANCE DAYS

Warning

Ensure personnel safety through effective communications and the two man rule. Notify people of telescope movements, before they're made! Fall protection is required at several PMU/PCT connection locations.

General

This procedure concerns support for routine maintenance day activities.

Maintenance Days

Per the schedule on routine maintenance days, operations from the Jansky Lab control room will be suspended. The dayshift operator will then proceed to the GBT site where they will work out of the warehouse to monitor and coordinate telescope activities until normal operations resume. Procedures to support these actions follow.
