Traditional holography maps have been made on the following days:

Standard, mid-size maps on a strong satellite with the FEM on and OFF. Differences between the FEM on and off maps should confirm scaling from phase to actuator motion and maybe serve as a check on the registering of panels onto the phase maps.

Focus offset maps. First, a few 'standard', mid-size maps on a strong satellite for comparison purposes. Followed by small maps with various focus offsets and tilts. These will be used to determine what focus offsets/tilts produce what kinds of phase errors. Once this is known, phase errors due to focus tracking problems can be LSQ fitted and removed from the holography maps. Eventually, the coefficients from the LSQ fit can be used to update the focus tracking model. Also, might help determineleft/right, up/down, ... orientation.

Three maps for various purposes. A 'standard. map for comparison to the other two, a map with actuator offsets predicted by the 16 Oct 2003 map4 data, and a map with a specified bump in the actuators. The latter can be used to definitively determine map orientation, phase to actuator scaling, and panel/phase-map registration.

Maps to determine whether the software for deforming the surface via Zernike coefficients worked; an attempt at removing surface defects; a test to see the affects of our sampling; and various maps taken through sunrise looking for thermal changes to the surface. Note added by Todd & Fred (Feb 28, 2008): analysis of maps shows that the 16 actuators connected to (IIOP 2, LVDT 31) were in a bad state (all raised above the surrounding surface) during these maps.
