- Use the Ka-band receiver with the CCB backend
- Compare the performance of the new surface actuator zero file with the old file by switching back and forth and taking scans across quasars
- Take large daisy scan through bright quasar as a beam profile
- Take a tilt scan by moving the telescope a full 360 degrees in one hour, each direction

Summary of sources observed:
Scans 1-4 peak 3C84 Old surface zeros
5 focus
6-7 nods use scheduling block: "ccbnods" scan 6 = 2006_12_21_05:41:08.fits
"SurfaceActZeros.conf" replaced with new version,
and active surface manager turned off and on.
8-12 peak/focus on 3C84 New surface zeros
13,14 nods
change to original surface zeros
15-19 peak/focus on 3C84, elevation=52 deg
20,21 nods
change to new zeros file
22-26 peak/focus -- abort, restart peak elev=50.2
26-30 peak/focus on 3C84
31,32 nods
back to original surface zeros
38-42 peak focus elev=46.8
43,44 nods
new surface zeros
45-49 peak/focus elev=44
50,51 nods
Tipping scans: use sched block "ccbtip"
5 minute tips 10 deg to 80 deg and back.
Scan 52, start = 54090.29222222, stop = 54090.29569444, 2006_12_21_07:00:48.fits
Scan 53, start = 54090.29611111, stop = 54090.29958333, 2006_12_21_07:06:24.fits
Now move to 0739+0137
Scans 54-58 peak/focus, still on new zeros. elev=53.0
59,60 nods
change to old surface
61-65 peak/focus on 0739+0137, elev=52.7
66,67 nods
using old surface zeros
peak/focus/nod sequence scans 68-74 on 3C147, elev=59,8
OOF map on 3C273: scheduling block "ccboof"
slew to 3C273,
peak/focus scans 75-79
1st OOF map scan 80 delta focus = 0mm, total of 23 rows 2006_12_21_08:04:50.fits
81 " " = +35 mm
82 " " = -35
83 " " = -35 again (should have been +70)
84 " " = -70
Trying Daisy scan
85-89 peak/focus on 3C273 - elevation heuristics failed.
Scan 90 is first daisy, tracking beam 1.
91 " " 2.
Next peak again on 3C273 and do an in-focus map
92-96 peak/focus on 3C273
97 in-focus map
98 " " "
99 " " "
more nods:
100-104 peak/focus on 3C273
105,106 nods elev=44.1
change to new surface
107-111 peak/focus 3C273
112,113 nods, elev=45.5
old surface
114-118 peak/focus on 3C273
119,120 nods, elev=46.7
new surface
Scans 121,122 nods on 3C273, Elev=47.0
old surface
Scans 123,124 nods, elev=47.7
new surface
Scans 125,126, nods, elev=48
old surface, Scans 127-128, elev=48.6
new surface, Scans 129-130
old surface -- do the 5 OOF maps
131 -- delta focus = 0
132 -- delta focus = +35 mm
133 -- delta focus = -35
134 -- delta focus = +70
135 -- delta focus = -70
with old surface, do another peak and 2 nods:
[ Fred accidentally wiped out the ActiveSurface config file --
not the table of zero points, but the one the active surface manager
uses when it is re-booted.
Fortunately we did not have to reboot it, so this
incident did not affect what we were doing.
Amy restored the file later that morning.]
Scans 136-140, 141,142 peak/focus, 2 nods on 3C273, elev=53.2.
manager off/on active surface with same old surface, to check
whether we had seriously screwed something up (we hadn't)
Scans 143,144 nods, elev=53.4
Change surface to one with the corrections put in with the wrong sign.
Nods scans 145, 146
Change to the new surface with the correct sign.
Nods 147, 148, elev 53.6
change back to old surface
Nods 149 150
new surface
scans 151-5 peak/focus on 3C273
nods 156, 157 elev=53.6
old surface
2 nods 158,159
Do azimuth scans:
start at AZ=380, EL=77, spin to AZ = -10
scan 160 : ccw rotate
scan 161 : cw rotate
