Board Meeting Minutes for June, 2007

Chuck informed us that Fred approved our request of funds for a new exercise building, but AUI said "no way". Chuck recommends that we keep trying, via a thank you note to Fred. "Can't get anything unless we ask..."; There was also a discussion concerning the 250K we asked for - how it was really not enough at all to build the structure desired.

Set for Oct. 27th
D.C. Riggs is set to play party
Glen will buy Beer, Coffee and Cider.
The McCarty's will chair the effort to provide food.
Bob will take care of the Ballot Box
We agreed to include 2cd & 3rd place prizes for the usual categories, with cash prizes for all - though there was debate on how cheap the 3rd place prize should be.

The setting up of the walls in the basement will take place on Wed, Sept. 26, from 10 AM - 11 AM. Sue will direct our efforts, and we will encourage the general staff to help out.
We agreed to get glow necklaces for the kids.
There was discussion about the Haunted House being a Fund Raiser for the Spanish Club, but I don't believe that this was voted on. Also, I don't believe the issue of how much to charge (if at all) was decided.
We need Fog Juice.
Carla and Galen have agreed to provide sound.
There are a number of individual 'acts' in the Haunted House:
- Bob Simon
- Bob Simmons
- Glen Langston
- Frank Ghigo (mad scientist)
- McCartys (alien auptopsy)
- Carla (elevator attendant)
- Spanish Club
It was discussed that each individual 'act' could be expected to spend between 0 and 100 dollars.

Date: Dec. 9.
It was decided to try something new this year, and contact the woman that Glen had mentioned in a previous email, and see if she'd be willing to come to NRAO for the amount we can offer her (~$450.00).
