Integration Test #1 Report for Release 8.1

Integration Test: 05 Feb 2008, 16:30 - 20:00

Responsible: LihongYao, RonGrider

Installation

Installation problems - apparently the setFileMode didn't properly set to root owner for the files that are affected. Reran, and restarted SpectralProcessor processes on gemini successfully. Manually (TaskMaster) restarted IFRack on fire and ConverterRack and turtle.d on wind. Noticed during switchVersions, that at the steps of "Running fixGoHang" and "This step turns the LO1 off then on again to reset it", a message is displayed that reads, "reading .glishrc_local from /home/aips++/stable2". This is related to the changes made to ygor / user / env / bash.script, but we're not sure what else needs to be changed so that this switchVersions script element gets the correct path (/home/aips++/stable).

Project TINT, session 70811.

Ran TINT/integration1 scheduling block. Good peaks, and focus, then spectral line scans. Scans 1-7.

Ran TINT/integration2 scheduling block. Scan 8 showed only a label of "n/a", and no plot. Possible illegal value in Antenna manager, not a good source. Selected another source, scans 9-11 seemed OK. Scan 12 looked very bad - no significant peak, a negative spke to the right. Aborted block, restarted. Selected source U11861. Scans 13-19. Scan 13 also showed "n/a" as the label, but had good data plot. Scan 17 (focus) said it couldn't be fit, so no correction passed. Scan 18 seems non-existent - select it, but GFM doesn't display anything. Scan 19 OK, just don't know how to select Scan 19 in GBTIDL to check it there.

Ran TINT/integration2 scheduling block again. Selected calibrator 2252+6440 (9.9 deg away). Scan 20 - OK, 21 - OK, Az correction passed. Scan 22 - OK, 23 - OK, El corrections passed. Scan 24 - Focus scan OK, focus correction passed. Slewed to source, doing spectral line scans. Scan 25 - GFM data looks like some type of spectral line. Scan 26 - GFM data looks OK, but now cannot select Scan 25. integration2 scheduling block appears to have run to successful conclusion, but operator Knapp suggests closing Astrid and restarting, to see if we can select Scan 25. Closing Astrid, then reopening and choosing Offline, allows the scans to be selected and viewed, but switching back to online with control mode reverts back to the non-selecting behavior.

Testing

Testing - Disallow execution of SB when GBT not Ready - Successful

Submitting a scheduling block when Scan Coordinator is in Ready state behaves as before - block is submitted and executed. Placed Scan Coordinator in Standby state via CLEO Manager Control screen, attempted to submit a scheduling block - received red message in Observation Log window in Astrid stating the block couldn't be run. Placed Scan Coordinator in Ready state by turning manager On. Received a green message in Observation Log window in Astrid stating the block could be run, and it was submitted and executed.

Testing - Incrementing the Project Session Number Partially successful

Seems to work for every project selected except TINT. Don't know if that's by design or not.

Testing - Ka configuration for MUSTANG - Successful

Don't know what constitutes success for this item. Ran the referenced scheduling block (TINT/KAconfigure), and received the following messages in the Observation Log window in Astrid:

[23:41:01] ******** Begin Scheduling Block
[23:41:01] ******** observer = Ron Grider, SB name = KAconfigure, project ID = TINT, date = 05 Feb 2008

[23:41:01] Configuring the system
[23:41:01] Configuring telescope.
[23:41:50] Default values are
[23:41:50] if3freq = [0]
[23:41:50] xfer = thru
[23:41:50] Waiting for the ConverterRack to finish activating
[23:41:50] . . . Waiting for the ScanCoordinator to finish activating
[23:41:50] . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
[23:41:50] Checking telescope
[23:41:50] Configuration Complete

Testing - IF Manager: Adding Two Backends for Phoenix - Mostly Successful

Configuration appeared to work to sponsor's expectations. Examination of ConverterRack CLEO screen showed expected settings and labels. Continued running of his script (TINT/jpl_test) ended with a SOAP fault, but it's unknown if this is a fault of the script or of the underlying system:

[00:06:29] <Fault SOAP-ENV:Server: Device error: ConverterRack.ConverterRack: No value returned for sampler RFpower,C63pwr. Check path.>
[00:06:29] SOAPpy.Types.faultType <Fault SOAP-ENV:Server: Device error: ConverterRack.ConverterRack: No value returned for sampler RFpower,C63pwr. Check path.>

Sponsor stated the script had worked successfully before, but still considers this MR to pass successfully.

Switch Back to Release 7.7

Started switch over at about 7:20pm. Very smooth. Stopped and restarted IFRack, AnalogFilterRack, and ConverterRack. Cleared out all the "cannot connect to RPCclient" type messages. Tested by performing AutoPeakFocus(), scans 27-30 peak, Az and El corrections sent. Scan 31 - focus - good scan, correction passed. Completed about 7:45pm.
