Ka Manager Changes

Modification Request 1C507



1. Introduction

Zpectrometer observations require changes in the Ka Receiver which amount to removal of components from the physical receiver and their associated control and monitoring functions in the software manager.

2. Background

The existing manager will function for in-house and familiar users but will generate error messages and hence confusion for unfamiliar users.

3. Requirements

General

Components for radiometer 2 will be disabled or removed from the receiver.

Problems Noted

LED samplers and switch parameters for s1 and s2 seem to be exchanged, it is unknown if this is in hardware or in the manager.

4. Design

What is your plan? How are you going to fulfill the requirements?

Cleo

Since the manager may be reverted to its old configuration, CLEO will use the existence or absence of parameter fields to determine whether it is the old of new receiver design that is in use. CLEO will then configure its look according to the state of the manager. Work involved includes:

Approximately 1.5 days of work.

What has to get done to integrate this completely into the system. This checklist must be completed before Cycle Integration Testing begins.

7. Test Plan

Cleo

Testing will consist of setting by hand the above-mentioned flag to determine whether the application configures itself appropriately.

Critical!! ChangeControlCommittee will be reviewing these.

Don't forget to include/acquire any additional GBT test time needed outside integration/regression testing! Get your requests in early!

Important! If possible, you should conduct as many of your tests as possible in offline modes and/or with a simulator. We should constantly endeavor to minimize our use of telescope time for testing!

7.1 Internal Testing

This section covers things like unit testing, simulator testing, and any other tests required to make sure this MR is ready for sponsor/integration/regression testing.

7.2 Sponsor Testing

Lab (or on-telescope) testing of modified receiver manager will be performed, verifying all monitoring and control functions.

7.3 Integration/Regression Tests

What do the integration/regression testers need to do in order to test this MR.
