Regression Testing 8.3

Overview:

These notes describe tests of the M&C 8.3 software on 5/11/08. The tests ran fine, but at 12:00 noon there were a couple of power failures and the last two hours of the test were lost during recovery of the equipment. Nevertheless, I got almost all of the critical tests finished and found no major problems. I ran specific checks requested by Melinda (PTCS related) and Bob (sdfits related) without problem. Because of poor weather I was not able to get an effective aperture efficiency measurement, to check on the active surface.

Last regression test I reported a failure in slewing the telescope after putting the scan coordinator in standby. Ran the same test this time, and the test ran fine.

One item concerning GFM handling of focus scans (noted below) is worth investigating.

Things I did not test because of the power failure: spectral processor observations, ACS polarization modes, and OTF mapping. These were not expected to be critical tests.

47 TMC1 SiO FS 200 MHz 10 MHz throw bad data, possibly because I did not have iftarget=None in the config and IF rack was at 4 V
48 TMC1 SiO FS 200 MHz 10 MHz throw set iftarget=None in the config; IF and ACS balance look fine; data still bad
SB called JB-q-acs-fsw-tmc1 did not configure the ACS properly
49-50 TMC1 SiO TP Nod 200 MHz IF and ACS balance look fine;data has a ripple but looks like ACS was configured properly
51 TMC1 SiO FS 200 MHz 10 MHz throw data now good
Ran same ACS config as previously; now it configures ok
52 TMC1 CH3OH FS 200 MHz 10 MHz throw data fine but no line
