How to Resize the Edit Box

If you are like me, two things are true whenever you are editing text on your workstation:

1. It is seemingly impossible to have too much monitor space to edit/view the work in progress.
2. The web browser/word processing application is full screen or maximized.

The wiki is no exception to these two points. Thus, it is critical to have a large edit box to effectively work on a wiki page. The edit box (which you see when you click Edit on any topic) can be customized to editing taste.

On your wiki homepage (Main.YourName found on TWikiUsers), you can edit the following options, or add them if they are not already present (including all spaces).

   * Horizontal size of text edit box:
      * Set EDITBOXWIDTH = 70
   * Vertical size of text edit box:
      * Set EDITBOXHEIGHT = 30
   * Style of text edit box. =width: 99%= for full window width (default), =width: auto= to disable.
      * Set EDITBOXSTYLE = width: 99%

Once you enter this onto a wiki page, it will look like this:

• Horizontal size of text edit box:
  • Set EDITBOXWIDTH = 70
• Vertical size of text edit box:
  • Set EDITBOXHEIGHT = 30
• Style of text edit box. width: 99% for full window width (default), width: auto to disable.
  • Set EDITBOXSTYLE = width: 99%

After you have the above options set on your wiki homepage, you can modify the values to customize your edit box further, particularly the EDITBOXHEIGHT which sets how many lines of text are visible in your edit box.

Note: " EDITBOXSTYLE = width: 99% " overrides the EDITBOXWIDTH variable, but it is generally a good idea to include EDITBOXWIDTH for full customization should the EDITBOXSTYLE be changed or removed.
